the sweetest/funniest little dance moves

October 25, 2011

This is just a tiny interruption in my Florence posts to share my most recent pride and joy. It's a culmination of little phone and Macbook videos of my beloved nieces... who happen to dance like crazy people in very public places. Hope you enjoy!

PS - This is the only song I know by Justin Bieber. We can thank Raine for that.

raine sings "do re mi"

November 22, 2010
I have so many fun things to share about this weekend... but I left my camera cord at school and I'm home for Thanksgiving week. But, I did finally learn how to get videos off of my phone and onto the computer, so here is little Raine, 3 years old, showing some Sound of Music love.

PS- Don't mind the kisses in the middle of the song. She's all about showing the camera some love.

things to love {about raine's favorite things}

October 5, 2010
a list of favorites from Raine, my 3 year old niece.

travel feet (raine's edition)
1. thing to do: art projects
2. animal: doggies
3. princess: "sleepin booty"
4. sister: raiza
5: food: "hang-ga-ber" (hamburger)
6. dessert: "pop-a-scle"
7. song: "baby" by justin bieber*
8. place at home: "my woom!"
9. tv show: calliou
10. aunt: tita celeste**

*Raine can sing this entire song by heart. She begins "whoa - oh - oh - oh - oh - oh - oh... dun dun"
**She may have been saying this because I was the only aunt there at that moment.

their birthday presents are bigger than them
when we counted coins and raine thought we should take a picture together
playing in their box
A few days ago, my sister, Nina, sent me a photo of Raine's feet, mimicking my tendency to take feet photos wherever I travel. When I saw Raine's little feet in her purple mary-janes and her bunny pajamas I just about died from cuteness overload. I then thought that she'd be a great candidate for my new "things to love about { _____ }" series, because a 3 year old's perspective is one of the best things to have. Now, all I have to do is wait for Raiza to talk so she can make an appearance on here, too.

If you have a list of things to love about your city (/anything!),
feel free to send me your list with a few photos (including one of your feet!)

welsh ducks part ii

May 15, 2010
when i originally post about these ducks, you couldn't really see the movements they were making. luckily, hiyabel took a little video of it (:

and i promise to blog about the rest of wales (and actual travel-related-matters)
once i finish my two papers :(

the best part about wales

May 5, 2010
when hiyabel and i were walking across a bridge at the welsh museum of life, we kept seeing these ducks reach underwater for food. their little bottoms would stick up in the air and their little webbed-feet would keep moving as if they were still swimming. i realize that this is probably not exclusive to wales, but it was the first time i'd ever seen it and i just love it so much.

friday five

December 11, 2009
1.

as of 10:30 this morning.. i am done with autumn quarter!
this quarter was kicking my butt and i had my toughest final this morning.
now i can focus on planning for europe!

2.

can i just say reiterate how much i believe that everything works out in the end?
i came to campus this year knowing nothing about where i was living,
who my roommate was, what the other people were going to be like
and living in my co-op has
introduced me truly wonderful people
and reinstates my belief that true, genuine people exist.

3.

of the wonderful people i met,
one sent me this video while i was suffering-- i mean studying..

watch this. it WILL make your day.

4.

today was my last day at work for one of my jobs.
we had a tea party with hot apple cider and russian pastries.
best last day of work ever :)

5.

and last but not least, raine says "happy holidays!"

people to miss {raine}

May 12, 2009
i love writing about people i know, and what they mean to me. since this is my travel blog, i'm going to call each of these entries "people to miss," because i will most certainly miss them when i can't see them all the time. this blog is about my niece, raine, and i think the best way to talk about her is to let her cuteness speak for itself.

these are all from hanging out this past saturday:

playing bubbles

hanging out in the backyard
and at the park
i love this baby with all of my heart.
