When I left Chit Chat a few weeks ago, I thought I recognized the man sitting on the bench and feeding the birds. I took out my phone, scrolled through my flickr photos, and discovered that the man in front of me was, in fact, the same man from this blog post in 2010.
It turns out that 85-year-old Fred has been coming to the Pacifica pier almost every day for the past 35 years. He used to drive but now he takes the bus from San Francisco and picks up old bread at the 7-11 nearby. I wrote a more detailed story about meeting him over at You, Me & Charlie but couldn't help but share his story here, too.
