I might (occasionally) stall when I stop on a hill...
I might never go higher than 4th gear...
and I might even say a prayer every time I get into the driver's seat
But hell if I haven't learned to drive a stick shift!
(It really is a stick shift I'm driving, see?)
piotr is trying to teach me.
ReplyDeletei am very slow.
yay stick shift! its a good skill to have
ReplyDeletei need to learn! haha. props to you!
ReplyDeleteYay! Isn't it fun? I remember the first time I tried, TOTAL CHAOS but it gets easy :)
ReplyDeleteoh God, I am terrible with stick shift...
ReplyDelete!!! Don't you look confident in that drivers seat :P
ReplyDeletebabydoll this post was dedicated to you ;)
ReplyDeleteaahhh fantastic! I tried to learn once and it did not work out.
ReplyDeletethis reminds me of me when driving except i will add in sweating like a crazy maniac. driving a stick makes me so nervious! hehe
ReplyDeletexo,
cb
haha good for you girl. driving stick makes me feel so powerful.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Hmmmm...I don't even have a driver's license! Over years since I meant to get it! :oS
ReplyDeleteI have been driving stick shift (or "manual", as we call it here in Oz) since my 17th year.
ReplyDeleteI am now OBVIOUSLY a pro.
(Hee! :P)
But seriously, like all things the more you practise and do it the sooner it becomes second nature.
Now when I drive, I don't even focus on the gear shift...my hand just works as if independent from my body!
I remember in those early days fearing the stalling...ugh. Today if a stall happens it's jarring (and embarrassing because, well, see the aforementioned "pro" comment :D).
Congrats! Driving stick is so much more fun than driving automatic. All you need is a tiny bit of practice and you'll be a pro in no time!
