Sopr'Arno

this quarter i worked for my school program here in florence
and was the editor of graphic design and photography
for our quarterly Sopr'Arno (literally "on the Arno")

it's a student written journal
about events and culture in florence

it was hard to get started at the beginning of the quarter
because i had no idea how to use InDesign
and nothing had happened yet to put into our journal

but as february ended
everything started PILING up and
soon ale (head editor) and i were SWAMPED

during the first week of march
we probably spent 20 hours in the computer lab working on this

and finally FINALLY we finished
and i'm proud.

anyway... there ended up being 26 pages
and i guess this journal isn't a big deal
but i put a lot of work into this and am pretty proud
so i just wanted to share it with you (:

holiday tea party

today i hosted a holiday tea party with some of my favorite girls

complete with cucumber sandwiches, pumpkin scones, and devonshire cream

dear santa cruz,

you are quite lovely. i miss going to school in you but i'm glad that we can still spend weekends together. it would be nice if your downtown was a little less scary at night, but your sushi is delicious and i can't get enough of your quaintness.

i'm headed home to be with my family for my favorite holiday, but thank you for keeping me company as i started my mounds of work. it seemed a little less daunting with you there.

paramore at the warfield

last tuesday was one of the most hectic days of the quarter,

but it was all worth it.

i went to san francisco to see paramore play at the warfield.

before the show, i went to a signing

and got my box set signed by the band.

even they told us pictures were allowed while we were waiting in line,

they told us pictures weren't okay once the signing started...

but i got this one (:

the show was amazing. they played a few of my favorites

("here we go again", "turn it off", and "i caught myself,")

overall, i pretty much love them even more

and can't wait until they're on tour again.

so amazing.

lately things have been overwhelming so i thought i would take

a few minutes to make a happiness list.

these past couple days have sort of been a whirlwind due to packing and getting all of this:

i managed... sort of. i have to bring a separate messenger bag for my books and then after greece i'll mail them home.

today my family had a "bon voyage" party for me. it was really cute. my sisters decorated with prints such as these:


and afterwards david and i went out to a nice dinner and spent time together.



and then kyle came over and we played hilarious games.

then david took me home, where i have been up all night getting everything together. he gave me this to read if i ever get homesick. i love my family and this boy. i'm gonna miss them so much.
